Gergely Hegedűs, PhD

Gergely Hegedűs was born in 1982 in Hungary. In 2006, he finished his studies at Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Hungary, and he obtained a Master of Science Degree in Industrial Design Engineering. As a part of the development team of Kentech Kft. he was working on wood modification technology R&D, awarded with the Novelty Award of Construma Construction Trade Fair, and Special Award of the Innolignum Wood Trade Fair. From 2009 until 2018, he was working mainly for the automotive industry to design and construct special purpose machines and equipment. The awards and qualifications obtained demonstrate the professional success of this period (1st prize in the competitions of design engineers on Design Contest 2011 and Design Contest 2012, organized by Graphit Ltd; Certified Professional Solidworks Mechanical Design - C-A4B6C84V2X and Certified PDM Professional Administrator - C-L4W9VCG8WA). In 2013, as the head of design engineering, he left his former company (Kvalix Automatika Kft.) and started working at evopro group. One of the most distinguished projects he participated in was the development of an electric, composite city bus. This Project was rewarded with JEC World Innovation Award in 2016. After nine years spent in the industry, he continued his studies at Géza Pattantyús-Ábrahám Doctoral School of Mechanical Engineering, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary. The topic of his PhD dissertation was dedicated to polymer composites. In 2019, he successfully defended his thesis and became a Doctor of Philosophy (Dr.-Ing.).
